So, where did we leave off? Ah yes!
This is the week when things start to happen. The week when I finally get in touch with recruiters.
As I mentioned in my last post, two discovery calls were scheduled after the initial exchange of messages and CV review.
Recruiter 1 - The Vanished
And here comes the first mysterious case of my adventure. We exchanged some emails and agreed on “Let’s set the day and time on Monday.”
On Monday, I do my usual LinkedIn check to see if there are any updates and… TADAAAN! The recruiter’s profile no longer exists! 404 page not found.
What can I say? A great start 😀
Recruiter 2 - The Desaparecidos
Same story — email and CV exchange. We agree on “Call me Thursday morning whenever it’s convenient for you.”
The day arrives, I call, the recruiter answers. After the usual pleasantries, they tell me they’re busy at the moment and will call me back the next day at the same time.
Long story short, I’m still waiting 😅
We’ll see in the next few days if they show up again.
Bonus Recruiter 3 - The Careless
During the week, I get a message from another recruiter.
Same routine… we arrange a call.
Everything goes smoothly! Incredible!
After the first two unusual cases, it feels like a dream.
The position they’re hiring for seems tailor-made for me. The domain and work environment sound super interesting.
We end the call with: “I’ll send you the detailed job description by email. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.”
The job description arrives.
It’s for a Quality Assurance and Test Automation Engineer position…
Obviously requiring direct experience in the role.
Now, I have no problem diving into a new position, especially since the company and the project sound very appealing.
But dear recruiter… a little heads-up about that tiny detail would’ve been nice during our fruitful conversation.
I pointed it out to him and am now waiting for a reply.
Let’s see if he disappears too.
That would make it three out of three!
